Northern Region NewsNovember 03, 2008 20:37 PM PFA Acting President Not Seeking Re-electionIPOH, Nov 3 (Bernama) -- Perak Football Association (PFA) acting president Datuk Muhammad Muhiyuddin Abdullah today decided not to contest any posts during the association's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Nov 15.Muhammad who took over the helm of PFA in 2006 when Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi relinquished his post following a cabinet decision to bar Ministers from holding posts in sports associations, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin would be the best person to lead PFA."My job in PFA is over...let the Menteri Besar head PFA and hoist the association to a better level," Muhammad who is also the Malaysian Rugby Union President told reporters here, Monday.He urged those interested in contesting for posts during the PFA AGM, to set aside their political differences for the betterment and development of the sport.Political differences must be set aside as the victims would be the team and the fans, if the performance of the team, slump.Perak Menteri Besar, Mohammad Nizar had recently indicated his willingness to spearhead PFA.-- BERNAMA
